Ethereum Gateway payments disabled

Due to the high fees, we are forced to disable Ethereum payments. It is unfortunate but we have no way around it at this stage.

Low payments with High fees

Several users sent investments using the Ethereum network that never reached their destination. Searching the blockchain, they can see that the funds are still on the destination wallet. So why haven't the funds being credited on their user account?

Let me give you a hypothetical case.

  • A user wants to invest $4USD into Zhaka.
  • Proceeds to send $6USD and pay around $2USD in gas fees. It was on a time of the day where the gas price was particularly low.
  • The funds are received on the investment wallet. That wallet belongs to the gateway service that processes payments.
  • Gas fees are now high and sending those fees after adding the gateway handling fee (around 1%) to ZHAKA would be higher than the value to transfer. So the funds remain there.

Cutting off Ethereum

So we have no option except to disable Ethereum fees. Everyone can verify the wallet and see that the funds are still there. A way to unblock is to transfer more into it. However that will have more gas fees to be paid.

There’s really no good decision here and we’re working on a way to provide more alternative payment currencies. Currently due to Ethereum high gas price, Any ERC20 token is not an option.

Thank you for undestanding
